As a private attorney, Mr. Ramsay represents clients in criminal, family, juvenile, and personal injury matters.  Mr. Ramsay has a stellar reputation in the legal community for rigorously addressing each issue until it has been properly vetted.  Mr. Ramsay will be in direct contact with his clients, not indirectly through his staff.  Mr. Ramsay also regularly attends continuing legal education seminars as well as constantly acquiring updated legal material in order to expand and enrich his legal expertise in the fields of his practice.  Contact him for a consultation.          

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Ramsay sharpened his trial skills by working as a law clerk for high profile criminal defense attorney Ted Justice Williams, a regular guest on Fox News Channel's show called On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.  While law clerk, Mr. Ramsay drafted a motion in opposition to summary judgment in a federal case, and summary judgment was denied, which led to a settlement for the client.  As law clerk, Mr. Ramsay filed motions and requests to opposing counsel, dealing with all phases of the discovery process.     

Mr. Ramsay also worked as a law clerk for the Office of the Public Defender in Charles County, Maryland, where he assisted attorneys in their preparation for trial.  Mr. Ramsay attended trial, filed motions and interviewed clients and witnesses.  Mr. Ramsay also advised attorneys on the latest developments in the law and on trial strategy.  Mr. Ramsay is proud to have been a part of the Public Defender team in Charles County as this office has a reputation for providing a superb service to indigent clients.        

Mr. Ramsay attended the largest and one of the most diverse law schools in the country, Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, MI.  While in law school, Mr. Ramsay attended a pretrial skills course, where he handled a personal injury matter in which he filed and argued a motion in opposition to summary judgment in front of judge.  After the hearing, the judge told him that he argued the motion as competently as any other practicing lawyer that he has seen.               

Mr. Ramsay is a former instructor of philosophy, teaching Law & Society, Topics in Contemporary Ethics, Social Ethics, and Introduction to Philosophy courses at the College of Southern Maryland.  Mr. Ramsay thoroughly enjoyed debating controversial legal and philosophical issues with his students and still runs into his former students in the local area.  Mr. Ramsay has a reputation for being kind and tough all at the same time, which comes from his firm belief that students are bright individuals but need to be pushed to their highest potential.  Mr. Ramsay's skills as an instructor come to bear when he interacts with his clients as well as the courts and opposing counsel.  Mr. Ramsay has a keep it simple philosophy that makes complex issues easy to grasp, without making them too trivial.                  

Mr. Ramsay attended the University of Maryland at College Park, where he majored in philosophy and minored in business and management.  Mr. Ramsay is still actively involved in the study of philosophy and is in touch with his former professors.  Mr. Ramsay also was a graduate student at St. John's College Graduate Institute in Annapolis, MD.
